Price increase for 2023 / 2024

Unfortunatley, we are no different to all others at the moment in suffering the affects of inflation. We have had to increase the price of the bus passes by 5% to cover these extra overheads but to avoid a large payment in August, we have spread more of the cost of the pass across the direct debits on the runs. Please see the individual routes for more info.

Route changes for 2023 / 2024

Feature changes

A short video from Shuttleid showing how the Boarding notification works

For 2023 / 2024, the bus pass system will not only allow to you track the location of the bus (Click for more info on this), the system will now give you the option to recieve an email notification when your child boards the coach.

Our bus passes for 2023/24 will be run through the ShuttleID system.

This system is QR code based which must be presented to the driver on boarding. The QR code is scanned and the driver will be alerted if there are any issues with the pass.

The best way to present the ticket to the driver is to have the QR code saved onto a smartphone although the pass can be printed at home.

If neither of these are an option, please contact us AFTER purchasing a pass and we will produce a plastic card copy at a cost of £10 per card.

The video below shows how to sign up for the system.

A Sample Ticket showing the QR code that is scanned by the drivers

Once purchased the QR code can be shared with the student in a variety of ways (see here for more info)

When logged into the customer portal from a PC you can:

  1. Print the code on paper

  2. Send a link to the code by SMS

  3. Send a link to the code by email

When logged into the customer portal from a mobile phone you can also:

  1. Send a link to the code using Facebook Messenger

  2. Send a link to the code using WhatsApp

We recommend that you save the image locally to your mobile phone as the link may not work if you are in an area with no data access.

It is also a good idea to carry a paper copy of the code in case your mobile phone runs out of power.

More info can be found here

Payment Options

The options for passes are either Termly or Annual with Direct Debit options available on the Annual passes. The Direct Debit will be handled again by Gocardless (via Shuttleid) although you will have to create the mandate again.

The payments will now be taken on the 1st of the Month, with the first Direct debit payment taken on 1st September and the final direct debit on the 1st April 2023.

More info can be found once the account has been set up.

Please be sure to read the terms and conditions when you sign up. On Direct Debit options, the first payment is non refundable and is used to secure your place on the bus.

Important note regarding sibling discount

Due to the way the Shuttleid system works, please ensure you do the following

If you have more than 1 child, a sibling discount of £45 per year (£15 per term) will again apply. Please follow the procedure below:

  1. Set up your account and purchase a ticket for your first child.

  2. Click here to email Buspass@travelcatteralls.co.uk and we will email you a voucher which you can then apply against the subsequent children. These vouchers cannot be applied retrospectively to the subsequent tickets so please make sure you receive the voucher before buying the subsequent tickets to ensure the discount is applied. If you have more than 2 children, let us know in the email and we will issue extra vouchers.

  3. Please make sure to put the sibling’s name and whether the voucher is for the Annual Pass (£45) or the Termly Pass (£15)

  4. Purchase the sibling’s pass and apply the voucher, more info can be found here.

If the council pays for your pass on either the Cat 1, 2, 4, 5, 826, 326 or 99 only -

If the local council pays for your child’s pass, please click Buspass@travelcatteralls.co.uk to contact us and we will arrange to have your child set up on the system. Please include in your email:
